Durham Aged Mineworkers’ Homes Association welcomes the latest regulatory judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing and is pleased to have been found compliant with the required standards.
The judgement confirms that the Association meets the regulator’s requirements for governance (G2), financial viability (V1) and consumer standards (C2).
The regulator recognised the high standard of service provided to residents and the strong resident-first culture across the organisation. It also confirmed that residents are very satisfied with the services they receive.
The Association acknowledges the areas identified for improvement, including strengthening board oversight of repairs and maintenance, providing clearer evidence of how residents influence decisions and improving the performance information shared with residents.
We are pleased that the regulator has recognised the quality of services delivered by our staff and our commitment to putting residents first. We also accept that our governance and reporting processes can be strengthened further and we are already considering the practical steps needed to address the regulator’s recommendations.
We will work constructively with the Regulator of Social Housing to ensure that our processes, reporting arrangements and resident engagement evidence are as strong as the services our residents experience day to day.
Our priority remains unchanged: to provide safe, well-maintained homes and responsive, high-quality services for residents, while demonstrating continuous improvement in the way we are governed and held accountable.
